Could you use regular bows for bowfishing and just mount a reel on it. Or should you buy a bowfishing bow. If so how much do they usaully run?

You can use your regular hunting bow and just buy a reel to put on it.

yea i use an old compound bow that was used for bowhunting, and just hook it up how you want to i guess

Thats the great thing about bowfishing, you can spend as much or as little money to go. Just about any kind of bow will work, if you use a recurve make sure it is at least 45#. Or your hunting bow will work great. I have dedicated bows for bowfishing, the fishing can be really good in the fall and I don't want to keep changing my setup. Also bowfishing bows don't get treated well they can get covered in blood, slime, eggs or get droped in the lake.

I just have an old compound and it works great, every one i go with just does the same thing.
