Decoy care ?

My dad just bought me a set of 3 carrylite turkey decoys. I don't think they look too bad and will use them this spring. It seems they may have been in the box a while, so how do you keep them "puffed up" and keep the dents out of them? I was thinking of crumpling up some newspaper and putting it inside the decoy to fill it out. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing?

Do glass eyes make that big of a difference or not? I known, I know "if they're that close they should be dead." But I'll be bowhunting and am just wondering. Maybe I should have got the Cabela's brand dekes or the Flambeau's?

I don't think I own a decoy with out some kind of dent in it. Just put the dented side twords you. I have 12 decoys and four differnt kinds all have there advantages and disadvantages. I think you will be fine you got a good solid brand. The bottom line is its up to the toms and what they want to do. I've seen turks turn away from callie morris decoys and there about as good as you can get.

The decoys that I have are a collapsable rubber-like material, I think they are made by delta, but I am not sure. What I am getting at though is the dents in my rubber-like decoys can be removed by heating them up with a hair dryer, then while it is still warm plug one stake hole and blow in the other til it is firm.

I had a set of decoys that I think were carry-lite that were a collapsable foam material and I didn't like them because it was near impossible to get the dents out. They work, but you have to be a little careful as to placement if one side has a bad dent that can't be removed.
