Today, While booking my cabin for deer hunting this weekend up in cass lake, the resort owner said that Pike Bay froze up today! Pike Bay is a large body of water for those who don't know. With the temps forcasted, I just might throw in the vex, an auger and rod. There could be 5 inches or more by the weekend! I sure hope he wasn't pulling my chain.

Not a chance it's frozen yet.

I'm on a 300 Acre lake just south of Pike Bay, it's not as deep as Pike Bay and it isn't even close to frozen.

In fact, there isn't even any shore ice yet.

Deeper lakes take longer to freeze-up and Pike Bay is DEEP!

Good luck Deer hunting--I'd spend my free-time chasing Grouse rather than fishing.
