Shimano Crucial rods

goose89

Question

Just got one last week. 6'8" X Fast tip. I've been mostly an Avid user in the past. This particular model "felt better" in the store. The salesman said nothing but good. Slightly cheaper than comparable Avid.

Anyone with a Crucial review, pros / cons, appreciated.

I picked up a Crucial last spring and have no complaints. I've got a St. Croix Avid that I've had for years and I find it very comparable. Great warranty as well. I busted the tip off (my fault) and had it exchanged in-store no questions asked. Great rod for the money.

I bought the same action and length in the Avid, but I looked at the Crucial and really liked how it felt. Had it not been for the deal on the Avid, I probably would have went Shinamo, and this is coming from a St Croix guy....

ok.. If I am fully honest, I have a biased opinion.. I am on Shimanos prostaff, and have been for like 6 years now..

The crucial is one of the best rods I have fished with.. IM9 Graphite, Fuji SIC concept Guides, Top of the line Fuji Reel Seat. They fish great, and have been pleased with each Crucial Rod I own. I feel they make the best Bass Flipping rod and Dropshot rod made..

Then you throw in the lifetime over the counter exchange which is KinG!!! and you have a very nice rod...

However, I did just order 4 of the new Cumara rods.. and cant wait to try them
