mmeyer
Hey Everyone. I have been having some colorspace issues with my files not having the correct colorspace (thanks DBL) but I got that figured out. I also just calibrated my monitor using a Huey Pro. I was amazed at the difference in the colors. If you wouldn' mind, take a look at the before and after shots and tell me if there is much of a difference on your end as well. I am posting them mainly so I can see how they compare on the web. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I took the same images I have posted before that I thought looked ok then made them look ok with the new stuff. Before After Before After Thanks
Dbl
Mike, glad you made the jump to the calibrated world, it will make a difference as you noticed. The first pick the before has better color balance than the re-worked shot. I am not sure what you did but my guess is has to do with your color correction withing your editing program. A white point and grey point in the wrong spot will give you odd blues like I see in the after shot. The second the colors have not changed much but you have lightened up the entire shot especially the mid-tones which is to my eye a bit closer to the look I like. Hope that helps you.

mmeyer
Thanks Dan, not sure why the sky is different. I'll have to work on that. The biggest difference I found is that after calibrating my images all looked dark and drab. That's the way my prints have always come out. My monitor always looked bright and vibrant but not my prints. Now I can see why. So my images now should look lighter and more vibrant, at least that's my hope. We'll see I guess. My first prints after calibrating were much better.
