camping on kab.

This june I am taking a trip up to kab, and camping on one of the parks primitive site. Just looking for some tips if anybody as been up there. How easy is it find gas, bait, from resorts or any area beter than others in terms of fishing or the elements

You will get different opinions here and all are equally worthy. Here's mine:

Start your trip from the Park Visitors Center on the Ash River Trail. Camp on the Eastern third of Kab or the Western third of Namakan. This more central location will give you equal access to either lake and more opportunities to find fish withought traveling great distances. At the same time you will not be too far from the landing should you need a quick exit. Kab has more open water and can be difficult to navigate on windy days and Namakan I believe, has more sheltered areas to fish. As for gas, bait and other supplies you can take the Ash River through Sullivan Bay to access several resorts, about a 10 minute trip.
