I see that a couple of you have beaten me to the punch here, but that's fine. I'm sure that each of us today has the same thing on his or her mind. This evening or in the days that follow, our country will once again be at war. It's true that there is no formal declaration, but then there hasn't been since WWII. Whether you call it a "conflict" or a "police action" or a "peace keeping mission", someone's baby is there to do what's required.

I would ask each of you to join me tonight in a prayer to whatever deity you recognize. Pray for our President and those who surround him in the decision making processes,that they might do all the right things at the right time. Pray for those children who will be asked to lay their lives on the line for the freedoms of this great nation, so that we at home do not fall prey to dictators, assassins and terrorists.

Since the birth of the United States of America our children have fought and died to protect everything this nation was founded on. As did all their predecessors, this young generation stepped up to the plate willingly and courageously. Let's pray very hard that everyone's baby comes home safe and sound.

Suddenly, I find myself at a loss for more words, so I'll just say, "God Bless America, and please God, bless our children."
