broke a tip on a rod

I broke a tip on a jason mitchell rod. I just bought it monday. and I don't have the receipt is there a way I could return it?

anyone have any suggestions?

what store. Some will let you exchange if their stickers are still on the rod. Or just go to Gander Mt., Cabelas, etc. and uby a new guide and glue it on. You may en=ven be able to heat up your old one and pull the peice of rod out and reglue it back on.

no panfish, and I don't have any stickers on it from the store. I have taped my reel on to it and was putting it in a rod bag and it snapped off.

How much rod is left after the last eye?

it is broken in the wrapping of the last eye. so there is the length between thesecond to last eye and the wrapping of the last eye.

Take wrapping off and glue an eye back on or just bring the rod in and buy the next size up eye. I've done this many times and it works fine. Thorne Bros. in Fridley is a rod building specialty store and would have you fixed in minutes.

Just to let everyone know. thanks for all the tips. Thorne brothers is a great store. I was actually in therre today and bought a new rod. but i wouldnt feel comfortable taking a rod that they didnt sell to them and have them repair it for me. eventhough I know they probably would repair it for me.

but anyway back to the rod. I called cabelas and they told me they would do an instore credit or swap for me. so off to the Rogers store i went. they swapped the rod for me with out a receipt or sticker on it. so the rod has been replaced.

just to let everyone know. i went to sportsmans and thorne brothers and cabelas today. after spending time in the three stores i have come to this conclusion. cabelas is way over priced! for example a dual transducer for a vexilar was 30.00 dollars more thre than at thorne brothers. so one more reason to go to thorne brothers and shop.

anyway that is my .02 on that.

I agree that cabelas may be high priced on some items but then again.....who replaced the rod without reciept or sticker? There are reasons that I shop at cabelas and that incident right there is one of the main reasons. Iceman out>

now im not saying dont shop at cabelas but sometimes you have to look for who has the better deals. i like cabelas too but i will be shopping around before i make any big purchases there.
