bigaceks1
Hey Guy's,I have a ? about the line you-all have been using on your Muskie rods, what is the best all around line out there on the market these days? It's been a few years since I've been and have'nt really kept up on the good gear! Thanks a ver-mil-ion!
RK
Hiya - For the last couple of years, I've been using Cortland Master Braid in the Bronzeback color. Best muskie line I've used. Stays round, very tight braid, doesn't bleed, doesn't soak up a ton of water. I love the stuff. I generally use 80 lb test on my muskie rods.I know a lot of guys like Power Pro, and it's good stuff, but I never really liked it when I tried it. Just a personal preference....If you want to use Mono (which I do at times) hard to go wrong with #20 or #25 Berkley Big Game. Cheers,Rob Kimm
AWH
I tried the Cortland Masterbraid on a reel last year and I would have to agree with RK. Best musky line I've ever used. I've been using Tuf Line forever. And although I've never had a problem with it, when it's time for new line, Cortland Masterbraid will likely be the line of choice.Aaron
PDXFisher
Cortland is probably the only major one I haven't tried by now. I didn't like Tuff all that much, since it got all poofy on me and if you get backlash it's hard to tell the strands apart (with the B/W color, anyway). I think PowerPro is OK, but prefer Spiderwire Stealth Ultracast over anything else I've tried. Tried Stren's braid as well, seemed about as good as the Stealth, but bled quite a bit more. Can't wait to try the Cortland. Can't wait to Muskie fish again. May have to hit Kincaid or something in the next couple months.

porterhouse
I also use Courtland 80# on all my reels. Tuff line got me wet and Power pro didn't cast smooth for me.Brian
Mid-Lake Rock
Bronzeback is awesome line. Agree with everything that RK wrote. My second choice is Tuff Line.
