Also if it were me I would have had about 20 other holes I would have been fishing out of deep and shallow. Some of these glow jigs are really a killer for crappies. Use as small as you can find. kslipsinker Posted February 27, 2003 Share Posted February 27, 2003 If you were in a contest during the day over 10' of water, the chances of catching crappies were pretty slim. With all of the foot traffic and noise, the fish would be very skittish and difficult to catch. Crappies are pretty much a sunrise or after sunset bite in the winter months.
