Bobb-o, where in Kansas will you be? I was at Ft Riley in the service way back in 76-77. We ice fished Milford Resevior way up in the trees in the headwaters. Caught crappies and white bass. Most folks down there had no idea what ice fishing was all about. Should be some open water opportuities for you. I fished Tuttle Creek res and Milford - both near Manhattan/Junction City. Kansas is a sportsmans paradise. Great fishing and fantastic hunting.

I remeber one time of my companions chasing after a snapper with the net he'd seen as we were shore fishing last year... we all gave him an odd look, but he wanted that turtle soup! He never did catch the beast, but it was amusing watching him try...
