River Campground

Anyone have any favorites for river camping? I am looking for a place that I can tent camp and run the river with the boat. I know Crow Wing State park has some camping so that is on the list. Looking around Brainard, Aitkin, Grand Rapids areas mainly, but anything will do for a new adventure.

I used to run the St.Croix river near Grantsburg WI.

there are many public boat landings on the MN or WI side.

We would camp on one of the many islands on the river and fish from shore all night. If you like rustic camping,the only other people we would see are the other boaters using the river.It's close to the cities but far enough to seem like your in a different world. Nice!!
