South Dakota Deer Population

I'm wondering if anyone hunted deer in SD this year (Mostly East River). I have for many years in Hand County (Miller area) and the numbers have dropped so much it is really disturbing. The GFP is aware of the problem and are looking into it. Areas that have traditionally wintered 100-250 deer now hold 10-12! Some people think it is Blue Tongue and of course the ever popular Coyote. Just looking for reports on deer.

I bow hunted SD "east river" last weekend and seen several differnt wintering herds...1 herd was well over 100, and 2 others were 50-60 deer.

I would love to know if that is a normal number of deer for this time of year or not....
