looking for some praire dogs

We have been out there a few times....stayed in Murdo and drove south into Valentine NE and hutning the reservation land. First couple years it was cheap, they only charged a reasonable fee and gave you a map to all the reservation land you could hunt. But then one year they got greedy and made you hire a guide for an obsene amount of $ for just dogs, the guide seemed to know less than we did and was basically worthless. That was the last time. Like everything else it seems $$ ruins alot of opportunities.

I understand that they need money to thrive just like anyone else, but the price was too much for what we were getting in return. That and fuel wasn't 3.05 a gallon either.

what do dogs do in the winter, do dogs come out on warm winter days or do they hibernate all winter ? we shoot tons of them on our fall bow hunting trip my new browning a-bolt in .204 cal just disinagrates them nothing but blood & green slime sweet!!! i guess i never thought to ask the rancher if they are out all year round. moose-hunter i think the cheapest way for dogs is a predator lic. i think about 35 bucks go on the sd fish & game web site
