Powerstroke
I've found a deal on some redfeather snowshoes and I'm pretty interested in buying snowshoes. Any ideas?I've looked at the other brands and would consider buying them if they are better.
0 bigdog
I bought a pair a few years ago. Model called the Black Hawk, not sure which current model is similar now. Has a live hinge instead of a bar under your foot so they lift rather than drag. I think the ones with the bar are made for climibing, so your shoe stays on the ground. I like them, the bindings are easy to adjust and they track straight. I think the other brand I was considering at the time was Atlas. Tried both and got the Redfeathers. Sierra trading post (dot com) usually has some on discount.
0 pulsar_nx
I haven't tried the redfeather shoes but when looking, pay attention to the bindings and that you are comfortable with them. That said I have a pair of atlas 930 shoes that I tried out for the first time last night. I probably walked 4-5 miles with them, bindings are easy to open and pull tight and I hardly noticed them while walking.
