Smoker help

Got a smoker for xmas. Not knowing what to get for sure I got a elctric master smoker. The barrel style. She knew I was looking at the elec. Bit gander told her this style was better than the one with shelves like the one with the front door. I have been looking at the ones cabelas has.

Everyone has their preference. I have a buddy that has the same thing you do. He turns out some amazing stuff with his, so there is nothing wrong with it. I have an electric shelf one and like it. I don't know if there is a lot of difference, more of a capacity thing, if anything. Good luck.

I think the one with the shelves is better, had the barrel style and just did not like it as well. Easier to get in and out of with the front loading with the shelves and more capacity. I would return and get what you want instead of regreting later.

The main thing for any smoker is being able to regulate the heat. Make sure you can turn the heat higher or lower. If you have a model that this is done by opening a vent to cool it down, your wood chunks will flame up with the vent open.
