10,000 Casts
Just wondering what you guys think of Musky Mayhem's new Super Model? From what I hear, they had to have #13 Colorado blades custom made for this bait! She is going to be like pulling a bucket through the water but the ol 7000's should be able to handle it. The other bait that will be interesting is the Train Wreck made by Crazy Crank. It will be the biggest spinnerbait there is... It is supposed to have a huge willow blade and a big magombo trailer. There is a video on youtube but all it shows is the flash and a muskie shortly behind. Are these baits TO BIG? I throw alot of Double cowgirls, Cyco Spinners, Mag/Pounder Dawgs, but I still like throwing the smaller stuff. In the fall, you probably can't go to big, or can you, and what about the rest of the year? What do you guys think? How many of you guys are going to run out and get these when they come out? MUSKY18
10,000: I think that the DG's are about as big as I am willing to go. Even though I have a 7000 that will handle the bigger baits, I just don't feel the need to go bigger. Of course, that is a personal preference, but I have a ton of the smaller bucktails that produce year round. I know one of my favorite baits for the first 1/2 of the season if a Musky Buck. I have also been picking up some of the Mepps Musky Kilers, etc are very good lures too. I might pick up one of the "big" lures, but I will have to wait and see! One question that arises from me is this: With the DG's that everone is throwing, will the fish become accustomed to big baits thus making the smaller baits more effective? Dano_the_jigasaurus
The double 13 colorado on the super model really didn't seem to pull any harder than double tens. The trainwreck is an insanely big spinner, and has some major thump. I saw one of the protos and really like the profile, i think it will be a sweet late season bait for slow rolling deep rocks. Just more tools for the arsenal I guess.....?Happy Holidays,Dan
