Guest
The threads below have been helpful. I could use some more info and coaching however. A couple friends and I will be camping in the BWCA the first weekend of March. We will be staying on a larger lake trout lake that has according to the map all of the typical structure. It has sunken islands, islands, steep drops, reefs, narrows, flats both deep and shallow. I will be taking my locator and my otter. I've got good gear and tackle, spinning reals on my jigpoles, pimples, airplain jigs, tubes. Will have cut sucker and whole smelt. I guess that I am looking for tips on what kind of structure and presentation during that time of year. Best baits and time of day to fish. Move around or stay put. What ever else.Woolybugger
Renneberg
Morning, evenings and cloudy days are great times to fish. Move until you mark fish or get a bite. Lakers are quick to show themselves.------------------Study to be quite
Guest
Wow, I didn't realize this site was so big. I guess that there is a lot more info in the BWCA ELY section. I will perhaps post more inquiries there.
