Little Atom is Great!

I just wanted to put a free plug in for Little Atom since I was so impressed with their service.

I decided to order some stuff from them after reading about them on this site.

I ordered 3 #10 Optic Stealths and 2 #12 Stealths. Also a couple packs of Nuggies, Micro Nuggies, and some Wedgies. Also ordered the Baby Bug Luggage.

I placed my order late Friday night (technically Saturday morning). On Monday, the first day I am guessing they were open since Friday, I got an email saying they sent my order out. When I got home at 2:30 on Monday, the stuff was in the mailbox.

I opened the package up, and found a free sample of glow Wedgies and motor oil Skimpies.

The Stealths, plastics, and Bug Luggage box all look great, and the prices on it are reasonable. Not super cheap, but you really won't pay any extra for their stuff, and you are getting higher quality than the mass produced stuff found in stores. Shipping is only $2, free for orders over $50. They sent me more in free samples than I paid for shipping!

I only ordered a little bit of everything to see if I liked the stuff before buying a ton. I can tell you I will ordering more from them!

I don't usually do this, but it was nice to order from a company that seems to put customer service over making every cent possible. I figured maybe I would give them some free advertising.

Thats just the way Rick is, old school. Always goes above. Its easy to support a good guy, but when the product he makes, just also happens to be the best available, even better. I have yet to find a plastic available to ice anglers that has more movement, doesnt matter if its the slightest jiggle or making it dance on more active fish. You will like the items you picked up, and the motor oil is a really good color to have too.

Wow Mason!!! ooo.gif

My favorite colors are white, glow, motor oil, bubble gum, yellow, red and lime green. I eally like the nuggies, noodles and wedgies. I haven't tried the micro nuggies yet though.

Borch,

give blue a try some time. We are just getting our ice set down here in SE Michigan. Will be leaving for Alexandria Sunday and will give the Micro Nuggies a good workout.

muc33,

I suppose the simplest one has been the most productive. perhaps because I use it most. Horizontal jig, with a horizontally presented Nuggie or Wedgee. Either a #12 stealth optic or 4mm Fiska.

If you fish for perch on flats, trying working a blood red wedgee on a jig like the Genz Bug. Let the weight go to the bottom, all the way. Just wiggle the bait in the sand, and perch think you are imitating a blood worm. More often than not, will suck it right up.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
