fishing addict
has anyone used these. the instructions say you can set it with the bail open. I don't see how that would cause the flag to tip up when a fish takes the bait. Any input would be appreciated.
cwmn
I use a baitcaster with mine, nothing like fighting pike on a short rod.Try leaving the bail closed and loosen the drag up so the fish can take line easy, then when you get a bite open the bail, tighten the drag up, close the bail, at the appropriate time, then set the hook.------------------Have a good one!CWMN
snowfighter
Have one for 2 years, and like it. Set you open face reel/pole so the reel is facing up, pop your bail and hook the line in the wire catch hole that is on the mounting bracket on the rod . The wire also holds your flag down. Make sure to put your bracket on the handle of the rod so it is ballanced heavy on the handle end.
Jigger Man
CWMN,What rod do you use with your baitcaster? Do you use one without the reel seat? I also love the Arctic Warrior tip-up, no more wet hands, or line tangles.
