how to start trapping

im thinking of starting trapping but i have no clue at all how to go about it...what kind of traps do you use? where can you get the traps? where do you go? what do they cost? how challenging is it? all help welcomed! thanks guys

ok, thats ALOT to ask, there are books written on each one of these subjects. I would start with purchasing some books and reading through the trapping posts here on this site and see if you are still interested. If you are go to one of the MTA meetings or meet someone off of here to take you out on their line. you can NOT beat on the line training.

FFG is a excellent source of intell, The best videos I have seen are the Miranda and Gilsvik both are sold out of the FFG mag..

Heres a little tip start with water line trapping like mink rats,beaver ,otter and coon,,A good confidence builder none of them are overly scent cautious. When ya step into fox,yote be a scent cautions boil and clean everything and observe this also when you are making sets. When ya get ready to buy equipment MN trapline supply is the BEST.. Tim Caven is a true master in the field and runs a top notch business.

FUR FISH GAME TIME TRAPS SNARES LAND or PERMISSION is what you need knowing someone who does it helps alot but i must say the guys on here helped me the most last year and are still!!! books are great look for more forums online go to conventions and dont be affraid to ask questions
