Can I preach cach and release and spear too?

It’s tough to discuss the sport of spear fishing with people who obviously do not understand it and are looking at it in a negative way. Labs gave a perfect example of how spear fishers take only what they can use. And yes, C&R has mortality associated with it as well. Spin it any way you want, angling with C&R does not belong on a pedestal as many have portrayed it here.

I angle, spear and hunt and love all of it. I don’t look at any of them as more or less ethical or harmful than the other. That’s why we have laws to keep things in check. So for the people who harp C&R is better than spearing I hope none of those are hunters. I really get a kick out of the people who downplay the sport of spearing while at the same time eat their deer sausage or pheasant casserole.

Those who take that view are truly hypocritical.
