Ozzy169
Here's the the questions I have? At -5 degrees, it's making ice, it also sounds like a vehicle that's driving circles around your house but it's only the new ice stress relieving itself. Does it affect fishing? or what does it have to do anything with being in a crowd? ------------------Get 'er done
Pig_sticka
in my mind the ice under nature doesn't affect the fish as much as noise from outside nature. if your deep enough it doesn't matter as much. just dont drive your truck all over your spot and you will be fine and the fish will bite if they are there. Ozzy169
But how about this?, I hear ice cracking across the lake, Do fish feel the vibrations if the crack was right above them? Noise in cold water travels further than warm water. I'm talking about how loud the ice is when it cracks, by nature or heavy weight above the ice ie.. truck, 4 wheeler or even human weight.------------------Get 'er done
Duffman
The fish get used to it, usually some sort of noise like creaks, groans, pops, and loud booms from first ice to last ice. Just like some of those city lakes fish, they have been hearing them jets taking off and landing their whole lives, it probably doesn't effect them much by the time they have grown up a little. Gonzo
The best luck I've ever had on LOW was last year, Jan. 2. The ice cracked loudly all day long. I've ice fished for many years and never heard that much noise in a day! We caught fish (26') all day long, with no slow downs in the bite at all. I don't think it affects the fish much. On the other hand, I think lots of traffic/noise above the ice will spook them.
Ozzy169
But, how do the fish know if it's a vehicle or Mother Nature?------------------Get 'er done
Try Too Fish
I dont know if it was due to the ice moaning or if it was time for the evening bite but a while ago after a warmer day when the sun started to drop and the ice began to moan the walleye started to bite and there was a fair amount of traffic on the lake making the noise worse. i don't know what to credit the bite too but it was fun ------------------Try Too FishForced Too Work!!
