95 mx z reverses problem

I took the gear cover off of it and it has reverse but now I dont. I cant get the forks to go n right. How do the forks go on? Do they need to slid between the spring? It will nto go in reverse now and just cant get the forks to where they need to be. Never worked on reverse b4.. any help?

on most of the older mechanical reverse kits, the forks pull the lower gear outwards to engage reverse.

the whold gear? as in the sprocket or the spring? and how are you suppose to get the forks on there when putting the case back on... do you have to line it up on the gear first? I tried that and I cant seem to get it.. anyo ther help?
