Grandee
I live in SW MN and I've always had a goal to try something different for deer hunting. The hunting around here is pushing deer and driving around glassing plowed fields--boring. Does anyone have some suggestions that would lead me in the right direction for a fun hunt. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks
Super Black
Any western hunt would be a great change of pace. Different terrain and conditions should make a great new experience. Whether outfitted or on your own its always nice to change it up a bit...

Super Black
Hey Grande, I guess I would start off with eastern Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, western Dakotas. Try to look for a state where you don't have to draw. If your finding it hard to get a tag without drawing, start sending in applications to areas you would like to hunt. A lot of this hunting is done on foot and makes for a great hike in some incredible country. Huge coulee's and 2000 foot peaks, and river bottoms make for some great spot and stalk situations. Lots of glassing, but not from the road. You actually get to go out and hunt for these cridders instead of waiting for them to come to you. I run an outfit in south dakota that is strictly archery hunting and boy do we put up some whoppers.
