xedge2002
What do you guys think about this trade?Steve SmithOwen DanielsLendale WhiteforGreg JenningsAntonio GatesLarry JohnsonThis trade just went through in a league I am in. I am in first place playing against the guy who got Jennings/Gates/LJ who is is 6th. The guy who gave up those three is in 2nd one game behind me. These two are also brothers and run the league.Does this look like trying to stack a team to any of you? It does to me and some of the other stuff they have pulled is making me lean towards not being in this league again next year. I am also in another league of theirs but they have 4 divisions so they are not able to trade with each other like this.
Scott M
I dunno. I think you're paranoid. First thing I do when I see a trade is decide who made out better, and I couldn't figure who got the best of that deal. Looks pretty fair to me.Pretty tough to call collusion on a trade like that. The #'s probably jive pretty well and I don't think anyone in that group is primed to break out really in the 2nd half of the season.Play your cards right and you can ride first place to the finish line. zamboni
Well LJ is hurt, and Gates (whos on my FF team, btw) got shut down last week by a horrible Vikes pass Defense. I think the other guy got the better end of that deal.
TNFL
yeah, but steve smith isn't exactly lighting it up. Lendale white has been playing well as of late, but the other RB on his team are starting to get healthy. (white got hurt this week BTW)Jennings has been on fire lately. I personally don't like trades in any FFL. In all the leagues I play in they seem to happen so rarely, and when they do they always seem lopsided. Or, the trade appears fair, but one person upgrades their team need way more than the other, And you wonder why anyone would allow that person to get their lineup that good. And then you throw in some people have stronger freindships or brother relationships, etc. I'm just not a fan of trades. My personal belief is to keep the number of teams in your league low, say 8-10. Then also keep the rosters small so there is always a healthy supply of at least half-way decent players on the waiver wire. This keeps all teams interested to the end. While still rewarding those who draft well, but not allowing the league to be won by drafting alone. Just my thoughts.
