PLywood floor for flip-over portables

Has anyone cut a piece of 5/8" or larger plywood to cover up the ice in the open part of your flip-over (Fish trap or whatever) portable? Maybe cutting 4-8" or 10" holes to allow you to fish through. I have a friend who has done it and says the insulative effects are great. Just want to get others thoughts.

I made one of these last year but havent had a chance to try it out yet. It's 5/8 plywood with a 2x2 frame and 4 holes. Also has outdoor carpet glued to it. I made it so it folds in half fot transport.

I made one for my otter, using 3/8" plywood and 1x2's. I made it to fold up into thirds so it can sit in the bottom of the house or easlily tied onto a wheeler rack. It did make a big difference in my opinion also.

I did this to use as a hole marker for myself, as I have my fishing holes, Vex and Camera holes in a certain position. Kind of a guide for me, but never used it for an insulation type thing. Throwing some carpet on it maybe a nice idea. I was just thinking about doing some revamping to this piece too, thanks for getting me motivated on it again. grin.gif
