WildFan10
This is my first year pheasant hunting and I am looking for some public land to hunt near the south metro. I live in Lakeville and would like to hunt somewhere in Dakota or Scott county if I can. I know there is a WMA just outside of Farmington but I don't know if it is any good for pheasants. Anyone know anything about it? I would appreciate any input people have. Thanks.
walleyemkr
Call the DNR Wildlife office in Jordan... They cover those counties that you're interested in and can hook you up with plenty of public land maps and potentially some pointers on which units might be more worth your time. A buddy of mine is the asst. manager there, but we've never hunted pheasants down that way, only geese and ducks. The number to that office is 952-492-5266. They'll help you (or steer you elsewhere in the area).
