Winterizing

This darn pump deal I bought doesn't fit the threads of the fill hole. I'm trying to fill it up and hold a piece of tubing up to the fill hole and I'm waiting for it to overflow from the top hole and nothing is happening. Obviously this is my first time but how much fluid does the lower units take?

To answer a couple of your questions:

1) Fogging is up to you.. I'd do it. If it were me, I'd pull the airbox off, with two cans of fogging fluid hit the carbs while the engine is running with the muffs on. Otherwise, pull the plugs, spray it in the hole, put the plugs in, leave the wires off and turn the motor over a couple of times

Be sure you put some sort of fuel stabilizer in the tank and make sure it gets run through the motors before you put it away

Some Yamaha gear cases had a smaller fill / drain fitting on them.

It looks like I happen to have that smaller fitting on mine. I had to borrow the neighbors and I'll have to ask him where he bought that smaller fitting. He has the same pump as I did but there was just an extra fitting added.

I will have to run back to the store and pick up another can for the fogging. I only picked up one.

Thanks for the input sir!

This is all new to me and the first time I've winterized my boat. I finished the oil change and the fogging of the motor. I still have to disconnect the batteries but I washed the boat and noticed some black fluid coming out of my prop. I've never noticed this before when I've washed it and I was thinking that maybe it was the fogging oil coming out? I hope so at least.

Just got some time to change the lower unit oil and I noticed I have water in it, I'm leaving the country on Wednesday for 2 weeks so I won't be able to bring it anywhere soon, should i leave the lower unit empty or fill it with new stuff before I go?

Definitely fill the lower unit with new oil. Leaving it sit empty can allow rust to start to form on the places that are normally lubricated by the oil
