Steve Foss
Canon has just announced the release of a new supertelephoto lens, an 800mm f5.6L image stabilizer. Also a 200mm f2L IS. That 800 is gonna have quite the little price tag, I'll bet. It was developed because pro sports shooters wanted a longer top-quality lens than was currently available. C'mon, DBL and Finn Bay, get on the waiting list for one of these suckers so we can get the skinny! Actually, that 200 will be a great indoor sports lens, too. Steve Foss
Man, a 13-pound lens, 2-pound camera and 5-pound tripod/head. That's a lot of shank's mare.
Dbl
Wow, can you imagine what that baby will cost! Great lens for day football, soccer, baseball but 5.6? I don't see the benefit at this point, you can accomplish the same darn thing with a 600/f4.0 and a 1.4TC. It must have better IQ and focus speed than this combo. The 200/f2 does look like a winner!
