Kidd
Mille Lacs, About 1 1/2 hrs from Forest Lk. Check this out http://fishingminnesota.com/milacreso.htmlMille Lacs is the best walleye fishery in the state and the resorts listed keep their houses on fish.[This message has been edited by Kidd (edited 12-21-2002).]

Buck44
Mille Lacs would be my choice also. Lots of nice resorts to checkout on this site. What part of Michigan are you from? I grew up in the Detroit area.

ackotz
tjstebb; You shouldn't go away disappointed getting a chance to fish Mille Lacs. It will be an experience you won't forget. Make sure you have film in your camera! It's quite a sight, seeing complete "Ice Shanty Towns" on the ice, especially on those crystal clear nights!Just so you know, based on your original post, there isn't much Minnesota left "northeast, on the way home..." of Forest Lake (since you're only minutes from the Wisconsin border), however, there are some GREAT fishing lakes right in the Forest Lake area...(check out the Lindstrom area lakes...) --Andy
