Holcombe Flowage

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I'm heading out to a cabin on the Holcombe flowage, where we stay on a little point on the south side of the main lake. I was curious if anyone has been up there recently Muskie fishing and how things were going. I had heard some rumors about some serious draw-downs already, but I'm hoping thats not true quite yet. We typically have 8-12 guys up at this cabin, and a variety of different types of fisherman, however I know most of the guys will be fishing for Muskies a majority of the time.

This is my 3rd year (5th trip) up there, so I'm fairly familiar with the water (the main, jump, chippewa, Pine Lake, Cranberry bogs, etc), but I've just started getting into the Muskies more predominantly. Any info you guys could provide would be awesome! Thanks!

I know about 8 guys were up there Sat fishing muskies with suckers/casting and only managed one small fish. However it was unseasonably warm this past weekend. I don't fish Holcombe enough to give any specific pointers...should be good though with the cooler weather! When exactly are you going up there? Later.

Anyone been up there within the last week or so? Any luck. I'd love to hear good reports. The water temps should be interesting this year compared to the last few on this same weekend as well. I'm kinda clueless as to what this will do to the fish, but I'm hoping they'll be nice and feisty.
