EBass
I would imagine someone reading should know the answers. Where do I find reflective tape or plastic reflectors for ice houses? Home Depot doesn't. What are the size regulations for the reflectors?I remember this topic about a month ago. Does any know these questions? Any suggestions would be wonderful. Guest
You can find the tape in the automotive sections of hardware stores or automotive store of course. Its supposed to be 2"x2"

HarryG
Any store that sells trailer accessories will carry reflective tape. I.E Fleet Farm or Northern Tool. I use the high reflective type, like the kind you see on Semi's. It is not cheap, but you can cut up the plastic strips and place them near the corners to make you dollar go further. Good Luck!Harry G
Steve Foss
I got mine at WalMart. It has a peel-off adhesive back. You get it in the automotive department. It's white. Only a couple bucks, and it was enough to put on a permanent, with plenty left over to put on both sides of the flags of 4 tip-ups. I got two packs and stowed the spare in my gear. Never know when a buddy will pass out drunk on the ice and you'll want to stick some reflector tape on for safety's sake. I still say the round plastic red reflectors, like you see on mailboxes all over the countryside, are the best bet on permanents. If a snowmobiler catches them in the headlights, likely they'll slow down because it looks like tail lights and they'll be uncertain just how close they might be to the "sled" in front. Good luck, and don't let the snow fleas bite. [This message has been edited by stfcatfish (edited 12-11-2002).]
EBass
Thanks for all the places and tips about the color. This is exactly what I was looking for. See ya on Mille Lacs!!
Gonzo
I found the round plastic ones at Home Depot (Plymouth). They're in the same section as the mail boxes, lettering, stencils, etc. I agree with using them over using tape. I've never had the tape last as long as the plastic reflectors. Ice Hole
FireTacks by WildTech makes some real nice reflectives using 3M's highest grade reflective material. I would post the link, but I don't think its an "authorized" link. So you have to go to yahoo and search for "firetacks" ...its the first link there. Raven
You have to have reflective tape on your portable sleds that are pulled behind your snowmobile or 4-wheeler also. I bought a package in the automotive section and have red tape at the rear and on the side I have the white forward and red at the rear corner. Works great and you can see it very well. For permanent, the round ones will stay where you put them and show well.
