Sinker Size?

I typically use 3 oz for almost all my cattin'- channels, flats, cut, live, etc.

The only time I go heavier is when I need to hold in heavy current, then I'll move up to 4, 5, 6oz or more.

When the river is low, typically mid to late summer, I can drop to 2 oz.

I believe I saw in another post that you have 1-1/2 oz sinkers and can't find anything heavier.

One suggestion would be to check out Catfish Connection's online store. Do a search for Catfish Connection and you'll find them. They sell all the types and weights of sinkers us catmen typically use.

If you are around the metro area, Moore's Bait & Tackle in Minneapolis carries a good variety of sinkers as well.

I would suggest picking up some 2,3,4oz No-Roll sinkers, and 2,3,4oz Bank sinkers. That should just about cover you.

Depending on flow and bait selection it varies.

My favorites are 3 and 4oz bank sinkers. 4 for live bait and 3 for cut bait.

If the flow is minimal, I'll step it down to 3 and 2, and for faster current, I'll step it up to 4 and 5.

I think it's better to be too heavy, than too light.
