Here is the worst crack...keep in mind this is "fixed" and the results before July 4th 2007. We got the boat back in April 2007. This is taken as the boat is filled with water to show that water is leaking out and is a hole.

If you notice on the above the crack stretches and curves in several areas. Here are two others:

The cracks are taking place on the front 1/4 of the hull and the marks on the hull are from the carpeted bunk trailer it sits on. The paint is just as pathetic. We circled these because the first time we sent the boat in for warranty work, they couldn't find anything wrong with the hull and weren't sure why it was there and that was EVEN WITH circles circling the cracks on the bottom of the boat.

A quick update for everyone following this thread...we called the dealer today to see what the status on the boat was and guess what...they didn't have a clue! The guy that we had been working with since last fall submitting the warranty claim and who was going to "take care of us" no longer works there! So they took down our name and number and were going to look into it. They called back within a half hour and the boat is ready!?!? We'll see. It is coming home tonight for a good inspection and then hopefully be traded off and to never be seen again!

The boat is in the garage, and nothing has changed! All they did was spot weld over the cracks, sand it down and repaint the hull. You can still see the points where the stringers are pushing through!

Get a lawyer, call the boat company and tel them whats up and if you arent taken care of you will take legal action.

Well the boat was traded in to a dealer today full aware of the issues. It is off our hands now! Glad to see that chapter closed!

Does the new owner also sell that same line of boats? I'm just kind of curious of what the dealers avenue to get things fixed are.

No it was a competitor of the specific brand that we purchased. Pretty odd! We are wondering if they have some sort of boat auction like they do auto auctions and just unload it somewhere?

Thats just to bad that you had a bad incident that the company that you were working with, didnt take care of you with the product that they sold you. I hope whoever it was that took the boat in on trade, got you another boat, and will take care of you as well.

Thanks Bass N Spear. We were very happy with the results and are pumped up to have a 1850 Fish Hawk now! Can't wait to hear that 150 Opti on the lake in a few weeks! I've never been so excited for crappie fishing

Two things with the Opti -- run oil made especially for dfi motors, and let the motor warm up before you hammer on the throttle

perch is correct, make srue you let the motor warm up to get the best performance out of the motor, and help it last for a long time. By doing this, you are taking care of the motor.
