More goldfinches

Recommended Posts

Although these are certainly not in the same class as dukhnt's, they are my first gold finch photos. One thing I love about this forum is, it inspires me and motivates me to get off my butt and attempt some decent photos myself.

These were all shot with a Panasonic DMC-FZ7 and Tcon-17 conversion lens using a monopod. They were shot at F5, 1/400 sec., ISO 200 and plus 2/3 EV.

Pretty shots, XT.

Actually, in your part of MN, they do stick around all winter. The males lose their pretty plumage and look more drab in winter, tho. They look like this guy below. Although he was taken in March and had just started to build a tad of color for the coming spring.
