MuleShack
I was thinking about hunting Rochester area this year and have some questions for any of you with experience in that area.1: Is there any decent public land out there to hunt on?2: If yes, how crowded is it? (have to be there by midnight ot get a spot?).3: Is there any private land (in fair locations) that isn't leased out or spoken for?4: are the land owners pretty decent about letting people on their land if asked nicely?5: Is Rochester more of a Late November to December spot due to the open water down there? In years past i always hunted out of a duck boat in western Mn, but will be land hunting this season and am looking at options. Thanks for any input. Abrams
Rochester goose hunting right now is all about the guides, leases and the business of goose hunting. It's very hard to find a field near there. If you do be willing to pay for access.
big drift
We have had good luck getting away from the guided killing fields, look around Kasson, Mantorville, Pine Island. These are all great spots just need to put in window time and knock on some doors.
