Was looking at the results for the Weekend Series on Pokegama, wow, lots of 15lb plus bags for 5 fish. Wonder what the pattern was this time of year, rice I'd imagine. Took a 5 fish for 20 lbs to win. MN really does have some of the best bass fishing to be found anywhere.

I fished it, it was a real slug fest on Sunday, I had 15.99lbs and took 12th. The 20.3lb bag came out of the river, but there was 18-19lb bags that were all smallies, they were toads. I had one that weighed 3.94 and my non-boater had a 4.59lb smallie. Guys were catching them all over the system.

I also fished the event and found fishing a bit tough for big fish, could get all the 13-14" you wanted. I was fishing mainly deep weeds and mid lake structure. I did get big fish of the tournament a 5.38 Largemouth on a deep weedline dragging a t-rigged worm. There were some nice bags that came in. Big smallies wow!! It was only my second time on lake but it is a beautiful body of water that holds some toads. It offers a bit of everything.
