Just curious if anyone has had multiple electrical problems with this piece of equipment? It was in the shop at the end of both fishing seasons the past two years. I have had the "mother board" in the head replaced. I also had fried the power cable in it as well. This summer it has been out of warranty and I have had to replace a bad splice in the negative cable in the head of it. Now that I replaced that there is circuitry under the batter guage where there is another splice point that just fried on me. The motor will not work at all now. I'm not sure if I have had a bad motor that was pulling too many amps to cause this problem or what. Minnkota has told me to ship the motor to them with receipts of the warranty work. I'm just wondering when it comes down to it should I just buy a different model? I am looking at a 24 volt terova, but I can't really find any info on this motor. Some response from you guys on this matter would mean alot. Thanks.....

I've had trouble with mine every year also. I have replaced the control unit before. This year it had proppeler power but wouldn't steer. Now it wont do anything but make the cliking sound when you hit the power switch. I took it off and put it in the garage. I'm tired of it. It will be going in the [PoorWordUsage]can soon.

say i'm a minn kota service center. do you have a circut breaker on this unit? 60amp. if minn kota told you to send it in please do so. they are damm good then it comes to taking care of their customers. i know i say that now and someone wil disagree with me but 99% of the time they'll make you happy. As far as they terrova goes its been a good unit so far. they have had some bugs what they are working out. i believe the 08 models will be alittle bit different than 07 models. not sure on this just a guess. Give me a call i'd love to give you a price on a new unit.
