Eau Claire River

By the request of the girlfriend, we spent the day at the "Dells of Eau Claire" on the Eau Claire River east of Wausau earlier this month. I had never seen, or even heard of this particular river before that day. The stretches we were at were shallow and rocky, and I saw a couple of people fishing. As the water was not especially cold(not enough for trout at least), I assumed maybe it was a smallmouth river. I did a search on the forum but found nothing on it. Just curious to what makes this river home, and how the fishing is?

When I saw the Eau Claire River I thought no problem, but I'm not familiar with the one over by Wausau - sorry.
