wall_guy_101
Ok gentlemen......A couple of buddies and i have been fishing the great lakes for salmon for a number of years and although it can be fantastic it's not alaska and you can't catch halibut. So here's what i need.......Although the internet is helpful theres far to much information for me to look at and deduce any pertinent info regarding what i'm looking for since i've never been up there. What i'm looking for is a seven to ten day trip in a lodge that deals with preferable king or red salmon and halibut. I'm basically looking for round trip flight to as close to the resort as possible with pick up or taxi to the resort and then straight fishing until we leave. So to make this far shorter.....what times of the year are best for what i'm looking for..(especially big king or chinook) what part of alaska (kenai peninsula?) and what are some reputable resorts (with a bar) that will hook me up with both types of fishing and deals in packages?? Thanks for the help gents...(and ladie(s))
fishermann222
Judging by what you want as far as close to airport, taxi, lodge, etc... I would suggest Sitka.
dss44
BC is just as good, and usually cheaper when you add in the airfare(airline companies rip ya off going up there). Just throwing it out there lol.
