Aqua-Vu

Hey guys! I have the opportunity to pick up a nighthawk (quad-cam) for a pretty decent price. I have never used an aqua-vu and am wondering if they are worth it. I already have a vexilar and am not sure if more electronics are needed. Most of the lakes I fish are relatively clear so clarity is not really an issue. I appreciate the help!

They are pretty awsome I dosn't replace a vexilar but its a great tool but you get pretty upset when you see all the fish that come by that pay you nomind and you can learn a lot about fish habits. I perfected my jigging. you can really learn so much by watching one

If you fish clear lakes I would recommend it. It can be fun to see what kind of fish are down there and also useful to determine bottom type and structure. It can also drive you crazy. I once saw a giant Musky sniff my fathead on Mille Lacs only to swim off into the darkness. If you primarily fish murky lakes or at night I wouldn't bother. Not much shows up in these conditions. I would agree that a flasher is hands down more useful than a camera.

Defiantely worth their weight in gold for finding that spot on spot kinda stuff... I use mine heavily to search out stuff like that.. And to gauge fish activity, seeing how they respond to lures to adjust one way or another... And as a bonus, they are great for the kids.. Its like letting them watch the fish in the livewell!! smile.gif
