Actual Ice! This morning there was some skim ice on Baudette Bay of Rainy River.

We got about an inch or two of snow here in the Twin Cities (not much stayed on the ground) and the temps are supposed to be in the mid to upper 30's for most of the week. At night it is suppose to drop into the 20's. Good sign for the middle of October. At this rate I'm betting on Thanksgiving for safe ice (Atleast I'm hoping).

We got 8" of snow yesterday near Battle Lake. Ice on some ponds, nothing frozen solid...yet. It's looking great!!!

Where is Battle Lake? I might have to make an early trip to do some ice fishing if some of those ponds ice up soon.

BL is east of Fergus Falls 18 miles.

I got a report that a lot of small lakes and ponds are iced up in the Bemidji area. Haven't seen it for myself yet.
