Jumping Ship....DEI....Tony Eury Sr.

Well, it looks like Tony Eury Sr. is the first to jump ship from DEI after Dale Jr's announcement. He has been hired by no other than, JR Motorsports, as their new Director of Competition and starts immediately.

DISCLAIMER: I am not 100% positive that the Eury Sr. was currently working at DEI, but pretty sure....I think. grin.gif

Yea, nothing has happened as far Tony Jr. yet. There is a newer rumor again that Tony Jr. will join Dale Jr. at Hendrick, but that has been speculation ever since Jr. announces he was leaving DEI, so I don't know.

I don't think the Eury's are what Jr needs. I think he could have done a lot more by this point in his career if it wasn't for Eury Sr. If Jr's car unloaded and was decent, they were decent for the race, if not they stunk up the place, Sr. was never able to bring a car that they could make adjustments to like some of the better teams. Plus they fought like dogs most the time also.

A couple of my buddy's are Jr Nation borgs and they both agree that he could do better without the Eury's at Hendrick.

Yea, I don't know if he would do better or not without the Eury's in his corner. They did help Jr. to 2 Busch Series Championships, and alot of people say talk in the garages is that Eury Jr. is considered one of the best young crew chiefs in the buisness???
