Anybody Have Any Luck This Past Weekend???

Just wondering with rumors of the spawn if anyone had any luck?? I fished an area on the Minnesota River where I know of 5 flats being caught on Sat and Sun night. The biggest three were 42, 34 & 34. One of those 34s being my personal best. To my surprise, none of the fish I saw had any evidence of spawning activity on them. All in all a good weekend for me I guess. Howd the rest of you do??

Friday night was probably the best night of catfishing I have had. Numerous channels(9), and the flatheads were 8,12,22,25 and one that was 37-40 as I measured the girth with a string and may have pulled the string to tight. Those are the weights.

Last night was just about as good with fewer channels and the flatheads were smaller in weight. Ran out of bait around 10:45 and had to leave. Also, all the fish we caught looked to be in nice shape and not scuffed up at all.

Sounds like I missed a good weekend to be on the water. I am sure the bite will slow again by next weekend when I get out.

I picked up a lil' flat on a bullhead and had one unbutton at the surface that was larger. The fish was thrashing at the surface splashing water everywhere so I didn't get that good of a look at it. Unbuttoned just out of nets reach. This was on Pool 2.

I know alot of guys would differ on my opion, but I feel the bite on pool 2 should just about start right now.

I have a couple of buddies who live on the west side and they do not even start heading down for cats until Late June and early July. I can not argue with them, because of the fish they have cuaght over the years. The one buddy of mine (Chris) has had multiple photo's (30 to 40lbs) up in the old High Bridge Bait store on Water road by Harriet.

a couple of us were shore fishing on the minn river by mankato on friday night and only managed one smaller flathead. no other runs that night, fished from a little after 9pm until a little after midnight.

So far this season I have spent most of my time on the MN river, because I now live 5 minutes away from it. I started getting my bigger boat ready yesterday and plan on hitting pools 2 & 3 soon though.

A buddy and I tried catfishing on a small river stream where I won't disclose for the first time and man what a blast! we caught our limit and also caught some nice ones, man do they fight.
