mr marbles
I heard we can still get by this year with the old valves on our lp tanks, since they don't have enough new ones to go around? anyone else here this?
Guest
Heres some advice. I also heard the rumor about still being able to fill the old tanks, I'm not sure if its true. But even when they made it illegal to fill the tanks I had no trouble getting my tanks filled. You just gotta look a little harder. Don't go to any of the big gas stations or fancy places, go to the little hole in the wall places who appreciate your business. In Saint Cloud, that little rental store behind mills fleet, has always filled mine through thick and thin.
Dave
Or, just go to Menards and swap your old valved one for a new valved one, filled, for a little under $17.
Guest
I didn't know this. Are you saying exchange your empty cylinder with the old valve for a filled new valved cylinder?
Hoyter
Bigguns,Yes, that is what Dave is saying, although I thought Menards was more than that. I'm sure he's probably correct. If you happen to be near a Wal-Mart, they were exchanging for about $13 earlier this summer. I'm not sure if they are still that price or not. Worth checking though. Uncle Grump
Got my 20# cylinder (w/ the old valve) filled last spring right before the new valve law kicked in. At the rate I use propane, my cylinder will last me 2-3 years w/ a little decent weather. I've seen alot of the cylinder exchange type bins (at the local conv. stores) charging about $35-40 for cylinders w/ the new valves (full). I am looking at down sizing my cylinder - getting a 5 or 11#er in order to reduce the amount of weight I'm pulling around. UG
Dave
Yes, an old valve cylinder, $16 and some odd change for a used NEW style valve filled cylinder at Menards. I saw the price list at Walmart but it was confusing on what was what.
