T8 Kicker question

Recommended Posts

Put a T8 kicker on a couple weeks ago. Still in the break in process. (which they say is 10 hours) Its a remote model. Anyway, when I turn my wheel at low speeds the motor raises and lowers rpms, depending on how much and how often I turn my wheel. I know its a cable issue but everything looks like its installed correctly. Any suggestions? Valve, Marine man?

What I would do is to remove the hood on the T8 and watch where the cables connect to the carb linkage and verify if they are moving when you turn. If they are take a look where they run into the motor cowling... maybe they didn't quite get the cable seated right. See this picture:

Hey Marineman thanks for the input. I did have the top off the T8 and held the carb linkage closed while my buddy turned the wheel. It didnt change rpms. So I do know its somehow the cable or bracket, even though I didnt see it actually move. It looked like the cable was seated pretty well on the bracket with the clips but I will check it out after work today and let you know what I find.
