Day lilies

I have several day lily plants that were planted last year.

They are growing and about 18 inches tall, but no buds or flowers. Do I keep waiting or dig them up and plant new ones?

Hold on they'll be there!Mine have been in for years divided 3-4 times,They have'nt yet sent out flower shoots !They will!

Thanks...It's just frustrating to see the neighbors blooming and mine not doing anything.

I never get mine to send out flower stems untill late july and early Aug...

Aug. brings flowers. They are pretty nice to look at. They do not last long at all. I figured this is why they call them day lilies. The bloomage last almost just a day, hense to then name "day lilies"

Shack watch em close they open in the morn and close at night,hense the name daylillies,Ya they dont last long 2 weeks of multiple random blooms.Mine also dont bloom till July there in a shady area

Daylilies come in different bloom categories.

Early

Mid

Late

Recurring

continuous

You may have a later blooming variety.

They are starting to bud now....should be blooming soon with this warm weather.

Mine are starting to bud now! They should bloom in a couple of days. I will get a couple of pics. I fertilized them this year and have been watering the heck out of them. This year is the biggest year for the plant and the amount of blooms. More to come!

Great! mine have been in bloom for 2 weeks and still going,there gettin thick so I will divide them this year (fall) and have 2x as many next year.
