First fish ever for my 2 year old grandson

Caught on fishing opener weekend on Cass Lake on a very windy day.

Only got a picture of the first one (he went on to catch 5 more), the batteries in the camera died.

way to go for the little guy. probably would never have been able to tell the species on that. im hoping to get my daughter out this summer sometime. she'll be 3 in july. do you basically do everything for them, then let them reel?

I have three three kids that are now 8,10, and 12. The trick when you take them out fishing, just help them. I was hard for me at first, not being able to fish also, but I learned to make sure they were well taken care of with bait, fish on and off the line and the likes. besides I was really busy with them and didn't really have time anyway. It was VERY rewarding just to watch them and see the looks on their faces when they caught anything. It is something that I will remember for the rest of my life as a father. I hope that they have the same fond memories also.
