Rivernut
That's good! Our email is in her name, so tell the wife it's o.k. I could be up any day, but thinking either Sat. or Sun.
tunrevir
Hey Mike, I have to apologize to you I did write the # down, I did try and take it with me and ............I did forget it on the counter with the other things I really wanted to bring this weekend. Friday night one eye, one muskie hooked but not landed, both by my 7 y.o. Saturday a.am. the fish were hitting hard and fast! A limit of eyes, a couple smallies to round out the fish fry and a small northern. I normally don't keep much but Grandma and Grandpa were up and both used to fish alot but can't so they got treated to a fish fry. I couldn't believe the average size of the smallies! I kept some 15" fish for the fish fry but I released four fish taped over 18 and one at 20". Crude measuring tactics because I used my rod handle and the letters for reference but i took my time and pinched the tail and double checked and they were nice fish. Sunday brought the winds a howling and the cold front blew in. I caught a dink pike and one walleye that was about 19" by my rod measuring device. Worked half of my milk run and didn't hit anything else and turned back and hung it up for the day. Last night got a couple smallies and a few walleyes but nothing to write home about. This morning was a bit different. Everywhere I expected fish to hit they didn't but everywhere they shouldn't be they were! Todays bite was all smallies and a few pike with the larger of the bunch running about 4lbs. I caught all of my fish in skinny water and on the backside of the shoals/islands. The pike were over mud/sand and in slack water out of the current and the smallies were feeding over a mix of rock/wood/gravel. Sinve you are local, lets hook up and fish the Croix this summer. I leave for Grand Marais in 2 days so I'll get back with you soon. Tunrevir~
Rivernut
That sounds good. I love the 'Croix and usually do well when there. The wind did get a little nasty. I am going to be in Brainerd starting this Sat 6/2-6/9. Renting a cabin on the Miss. Talk to you soon. Take care, Mike
tunrevir
Got your e-mail, good luck up north! I'll give ya a holler when I get back and we can talk fishing and wet a line. I have met some really cool people on this site and have fished with a handful of them so far. It is always nice to meet up with others that are die hard fisherpeople. I only wish my arms were longer when I say,"It was this big!". Tunrevir~
